The boil water alert is no longer in place for Darwin, after testing of water showed it was free of E.coli and other harmful bacteria.
The alert was first issued on Tuesday as a result of pumping equipment at Darwin River Dam stalling.
Power and Water Corporation say they expect it will take another five days for all four of the pumps to be fully restored.
