Bird flu is now at a Kinross Farm free range chicken farm in Euroa. The farm will kill 90,000 more chickens with gas. This brings the total number of birds killed in this outbreak to about 600,000.
Kinross Farms director Philip Szepe said these deaths help control the spread of the flu. "It is not unusual for an avian influenza outbreak to spread to neighbouring properties..." Mr Szepe said.
Egg supplies struggle to meet shop demand. This is now Australia's largest-ever avian influenza outbreak. Residents must call 1800 226 226 to report any suspected disease or chicken death.
