Flood waters are rising through south-west Queensland.

The record breaking rain has eased. Rivers and creeks over flow as water travels downstream. There are fears of widespread livestock losses as outback towns further north start a mammoth clean-up.

In towns where the water has gone down, People are taking stock. It is not clear how many animals are dead. Premier David Crisafulli said primary producers could have thousands of dead animals. "It's soul destroying," he said.

Choppers have dropped supplies to isolated towns. Some roads expected to remain closed for the near future.
